choose a Base to suit your horse
There are now four base types to suit the flexibility needs of you and your horse. Standard, Semi-Flexx, Flexx and Cavallin.
There are three base sizes; bambini, piccolo and grande.
Standard
The Standard Ghost base is made of layers of flexable but strong material. It is available in narrow and wide. There is two stirrup positions and no girth/stirrup pressure over the spine.
The girth is on a floating V system which allows more flexability of fit and comfort for the horse as it can move without disturbing the saddle. For a more secure fit, you can opt for Puro rigging which allows less flexion but an adjustable fit.
The panels are attached to the base with velcro, this means they can be moved and adapted to your horse in seconds. The pommel is a set width but has some flexablity to it without being able to collapse onto the withers.

- Monnecchio (fabric from Nylon and Polyurethane)
- Carbon (reinforcements around stirrups and rigging)
- Biothane Granite (belting)
- Steel (2mm inside the arch)
- Stainless steel for rings and studs
Semi-flexx
The semi-flexx base has the same construction as a Standard Ghost base but has a little more flexability behind the pommel. This base was created to be similar to pre 2019 Ghost bases. You can choose standard Sliding girth rigging or Puro rigging.
Flexx
The Flexx base is a combination between a Cavallin and Ghost base, utilising the Cavallin complete flexability and the firm panels of a Ghost base. This makes it perfect for those not wanting any stiffness between rider and horse, but desiring greater spinal relief that can only come from panels.
Due to more flexability the Flexx does have a wider twist than a Standard base, so it feels a bit wider to sit on, but closer contact. You can have an arch on the front as an optional extra. Girthing options are Puro or Sliding rigging.

Cavallin
The Cavallin base is a sophisticated hybrid between treeless saddles and bareback pads. Ideal for riders wanting more security than a conventional pad without the constraints of a saddle. And perfect for horses with sensitive backs or those who have yet to develop their musculature.
This base uses a unique securing system for optimal stability that spreads pressure over a large surface area, unlike traditional narrow girth-straps. The Cavallin comes with the longer V girthing rigging as standard, you can also choose Puro or Sliding rigging.
For longer rides or stirrup use the saddle can come with a matching treeless saddle pad.

The underside of this triple-layered pad is made with thick wool and houses pockets for added foam inserts. The middle layer holds the girthing system, the adjustable Velcro stirrup attachments and the cantle. The topside comes in a variety of materials and designs.
These models are easy to dismantle and fully washable. However, the central layer does not need washing.
These saddles come with adjustable stirrup rings for you to ride with stirrups and have been tested for distances up to 25 km. If you a lightweight and balanced rider these are acceptable for small pleasure rides, schooling and rehabilitation, but for more extensive riding and horses and riders that need more support then we would recommend moving up a base style.

Ghost C is a new base style than can come in Standard, Semi-Flexx or Flexx. The underside of the base comes with more of a curve and a smoother line to the cantle with a deeeper sensation. Ghost C has a different attachment system for seats, with the seat and flaps being interchangeable separately.
